Radio-Choreography Hereafter

Multi-Channel Sound Performance

Commissioned by the KONTAKTE Festival for Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art at the Akademie der Künste, Berlin.

Premiered on September 23rd 2022.

Radio-Choreography: Hereafter explores the possibilities of acoustic translation of choreographic practice into multi-channel electronics. Following two years of research, interdisciplinary creation and radio broadcasting events, Hereafter focuses on four radio-choreographies created in the former stages of the project, and recomposes them for a 16-piece loudspeakers orchestra.

By using live mixing and sound spatialization techniques, this works explores the possibilities of “choreographing sound” and mobilizing acousmatic bodies across the exhibition hall. Envisioning the acoustic space as an invisible stage and choreographing sonic encounters, it asks: can we meet across time and listen to the dance of the unruly?
